Congratulations to Vicky C. (Grade 12) and Grace K. (Grade 8) for being selected by staff as the Crusader of the Month for senior high and junior high in November.

November's faith theme was Solidarity. These two students have gone above and beyond in November to demonstrate all aspects of the Crusader Code.

Crusader Parent WAAG for December 8-12

Assumption School students in Grades 9–12 were blessed with a dynamic and heartfelt performance from Eric Reinhart and his You’re Not Alone Tour on Wednesday, December 3.

Through his music and personal testimony, Eric encouraged students to lean on God’s presence to help guide them.

Ms. Grievson's Grade 8s eagerly embraced the challenge, passionately putting their knowledge to the test as they crafted Density Towers in Science using unsaturated, saturated, and supersaturated solutions. This hands-on activity was not just fun but also a deeply engaging way to strengthen our understanding of these crucial scientific concepts and to ignite our curiosity.

Grade 10–12 students at AJSH were blessed with a dynamic and heartfelt performance from Eric Reinhart’s You’re Not Alone Tour on Wednesday. Through music and testimony, Eric encouraged students to lean on God’s presence as they care for their mental wellness.

Students had a great day participating at Skills Exploration Day, building sustainable cars out of a variety of materials with students from 50 schools and more than 700 students across Alberta today!

This is a chance to connect students’ skills and interests to trade and technology careers through interactive, hands-on experiences that promote creativity, empathy, and exploration. Students worked in teams using the Design Thinking process to address a real-world challenge.

Thanks to Mr. Murray and Ms. Shankowski for facilitating such a great event along with Skills Canada Alberta!

After reflecting on Solidarity, December turns our focus to the Catholic Social Teaching of the Preferential Option for the Poor and Vulnerable. This teaching reminds us that every person is created in the image of God, and that we are called to give special care to those facing hardship — whether through financial strain, illness, loneliness, grief, or any struggle that brings poorness of the heart.

As we continue our Advent journey, this message becomes even more meaningful. Advent prepares us to welcome Christ, who drew near to those most in need. When we extend compassion, patience, and generosity to others, we become Christ for one another — offering His light in moments where it is needed most.

This month, may we keep our hearts open to those who may be carrying visible or unseen burdens. Small acts of care can lift others up and remind them they are not alone.
