Assumption students gathered today to celebrate the third Sunday of advent. This week we light the candle of joy, otherwise known as the Shepherd Candle. This third candle of Advent reflects the joy that comes through Jesus’ arrival and through the salvation he has gifted us.
A few of our students took it upon themselves to hand out candy canes, with scripture attached, following the liturgy. Thank you for being our school's very own "beacons of joy."

Congratulations to our Senior Girls Basketball team for capturing bronze at this weekend's tournament. The girls lost a close semi-final by one basket and celebrated a teammate's birthday in between games! Congratulations ladies!
Our SR Girls basketball team started off their second tournament of the season with a tough first game. We grew together to work through a high level of pressure and persevered for the win!

Math 10 prep has garnered a lot of attention this year. There has been a lot of positive feedback from both students and parents alike. We have been told that through this course, students are gaining confidence and building new perspectives on math before heading into Math 10C. The prep course combines a review of Mathematics 9 concepts and a preview of concepts students will encounter in Math 10C. Students have shared that this has helped decrease their anxiety immensely. The overall atmosphere is positive as students engage in a wide variety of hands-on activities, digital platforms, brain teasers, math starters, math games and traditional-style learning. The pictures below are of students playing two games that their teacher, Ms. Degenhardt, created for this course. Students are racing to plot points and graph linear equations on a coordinate grid. Serious business!
